Taking a break....

for quite a while now i have been getting a bit bored with this blog, I'm finding it more of a chore than a pleasure and find myself posting the same old type of things over and over.....

I'm feeling very much like this blog has just run its course and perhaps its time to pull the switch on it,

after all at the end of the day if you are running a business then i understand the need for free promotion and advertising but if you don't need to earn your wage in this area (which i don't) then the only thing you are promoting by having a blog... is yourself!!!!

so I'm taking a break, I'm not sure how long it will take but I'll either be back with renewed vigor or I'll pull the switch and delete the lot...

and after a fair bit of work i decided that the piece i was making was just plain ugly... gotta have a re think on this one....


so basically I've spent the majority of the day making a bucket of swarf !!!

Digger bits .......

got the spacers for the rear axle on the digger done today... i can replace the thousands of assorted sized ones we mocked up with now....


and made a start on the chain tensioner...



thank god for friends with a lot of experience eh??..... today while working on the Lathe there was a huge flash from the motor and the power tripped in the workshop, my first thought was that the motor was fubared.... i reset the main trip and stood there thinking "oh bollox!!", i was however puzzled by the lack of burnt motor smell that generally accompanies that sorta thing, so i phoned the 'Lathe and general workshop tips information hotline', otherwise known as Toddy.... "yep if you have a lathe with the motor behind it that happens, you've got swarf in the motor, blow it out with an airline and it'll be fine but make a guard so it cant happen again" ... what a bloody oracle of knowledge you are mate... cheers Toddy
